In Georgetown, there are events every member of your family will enjoy. From special events for holidays to Red Poppy and Food Festivals, Georgetown makes sure that it keeps its residents active and involved. Here are a few examples of a things the community does throughout the year!
Red Poppy Festival
·In 2019, Georgetown will be celebrating their 20th year of this festival.
·This three-day long festival takes place from April 26-28.
·It features a large parade with floats, bands and live music, various shows, and even has separate sections for kids to play games. There are also numerous fun and original booths to meet all shopping needs.
Georgetown Halloween Festival
·In 2019, Georgetown will be celebrating their 25th year of this festival. It falls on October 25th.
·Located at the Georgetown Community Center, this festival features a carnival, wide-scale trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, and a costume contest.
·There will also be live music and other various forms on fun, festive entertainment.
Downtown Georgetown Ghost Tours
·On Friday’s and Saturday’s in October (specifically the 12th, 13th, 26th, and 27th), there are ghost tours.
·Located in the Georgetown Square, this tour will go through old historic buildings, and even features some true, haunting stories.
·There are two types, one being scarier than the other, depending on the age of your kids.
·Tickets range from $15 to $20.
Clayman Rodeo
·This is Georgetown’s very own rodeo! It happens on September 29th at Windsong Farm.
·Like any rodeo, they feature things like calf roping and barrel racing, and there will even be clowns!
·Tickets are $8 for anyone over the age of 10, and $5 for those who are under.
