Summer in Texas Can Get Hot, and What's the Best Way to Cool Down? A Dip In One of These Fun Outdoor Parks!
When it's summertime in Texas and the temperature reaches the 90's or even 100's, it seems like there is no way to get relief. But, in Georgetown, that's not the case as there are multiple places to go for a swim! Whether you bring the whole family or just go for a quick dip, these are are some of the perfect places to cool off.
Blue Hole Park (101 S Rock St)
- This is a fantastic place to swim as the water is extremely clear. It's part of the San Gabriel River, and it has wonderful paved trails surrounding it. The water is said to always be a great temperature, and it never gets too chilly. If you don't want to swim, it's a great place to lay out and relax, grill, picnic, walk/run, fish, etc.
- This is great place to not only swim, but also hike as it has 25 miles of hiking trails that surround Lake Georgetown. There are also areas where you can go cliff jumping into the lake! There are campgrounds if you want to stay overnight, but a small fee applies.
- This beautiful, clean, blue lake is located right in Georgetown, Texas (hence the name). Lake Georgetown has numerous points to explore for a swim, and Cedar Breaks (mentioned above) is one of them. There are camping grounds, clean bathrooms, and lots of room for hiking, fishing, boating, and most importantly, swimming! There are also trails located around it.
